Drew Provence Drew Provence Receives Baseball Scholarship to North Greenville College
Drew Provence is living proof that you do not have to play high school baseball to receive a college baseball scholarship!!

Drew will be attending North Greenville College in Greenville, South Carolina, on a baseball scholarship.   He attended Whitewater High School, graduating in May 2008, but did not play baseball there.

Drew played for Brooks Area Little League when he was younger and then went on to play several years in the District 4 Big League Baseball program.   He was a vital part of the 2008 District 4 Big League State Championship team.

NGU is an NCAA Division II program and first year head baseball coach, Travis Henson, looks forward to Drew being a big part of his first freshman class.

Kurt Boehringer
Big League Player is a Starter at University of Kentucky

Hard work + Perseverance = Success

Kurt Boehringer began playing baseball in Pennsylvania at the age of 5.   His family moved to Peachtree City when he was 12 and he began playing baseball for Peachtree City Little League.

Kurt played baseball for McIntosh High School as a freshman.  In his sophomore year, he sustained an ankle injury which ended his high school career.

But he didn’t let that stop him from enjoying the sport he loved.  Kurt continued playing baseball for Peachtree City in the Junior and Senior Leagues.  Then he moved up to the District 4 Big League program.  He played Big League in 2004, 2005 and 2006 and was an integral part of the District 4 All Star teams.  Those Big League All Star teams are what launched his college baseball career.

Kurt entered the University of Kentucky in the fall of 2006 and was soon picked up for the JV Baseball team.  This past season he was a starter on the U of K JV team and played “as needed” for the Varsity team.   “It’s quite an honor to be accepted on the Varsity team as a freshman,” said Boehringer.  “I love the game.”

During Spring Break, Kurt returned home to Peachtree City to visit his family and friends.  He was honored during the Opening Day Ceremony for Peachtree City Little League throwing out the First Pitch and giving an inspirational talk to all ballplayers who aspire to play college ball.

The message:  Don’t give up – Go after your Dream.  Hard work and perseverance can accomplish many things in life.

Josh Watson - Living the Dream at Shorter College
February 4, 2010

Josh pitched yesterday in the second game for Shorter College against Snead State Community College in Boaz, AL.  Shorter won the first game 3-2 and lost the second 6-2.  Josh pitched one scoreless inning in relief.  He gave up two hits, two ground-outs and one strike out.

He was really excited and so were we.  We drove over (3 Hours) and were thrilled.  He made the 9th grade team at Whitewater and that year pitched the last inning of the last game of the year.  So in two games in college he pitched as much in two games that he did in all of high school ball.  Big League game him an opportunity!  Big league was great for Josh and Coach Todd had a huge impact.
